Slaughtering Elephants for Trinkets

It is likely that within the next 50 years, elephants will be extinct in the wild. In 1940, the world population of elephants living in the wilds of Asia and Africa was estimated to have been between 3 to 5 million.  Wild herds of elephants roamed across great portions of Asia and Africa.

King Of Conspiracy Theorists has Epic Meltdown

Alex Jones is nothing if not entertaining.  He never met a conspiracy that he couldn't embrace.  Indeed, he has made a comfortable living presenting half truths and fabrications to those too lazy to do their own research.  His SHOUTOUT on the Piers Morgan show is one for the memory books.  I'm not a fan of Morgan but I have to wonder just what was going through his mind while the perpetually outraged Jones was getting more and more unhinged.  Has to be seen to be appreciated.  This is Part I............

Furious Right Now, Absolutely Seething : Updated

Some of you might know that I'm an animal lover, specifically, I am crazy about dogs.  I have 6 dogs.  Yes, I know, that's an excessive number.  Don't waste your time or my time telling me that is too many.  I never bought a dog in my life.  Every dog I own is either from a rescue or from the local pound.  Right now I have to take my one eyed dog to an emergency clinic to see if her remaining eye can be saved.

High Speed Texan Drivers Encountering High Toll Fees and Slow Moving Pigs

Drivers on the nation's road with the highest legal speed limit are running into high tolls and slow pigs.

On October 24, Texas opened up a 41 mile toll way that has the highest legal speed limit in America. Cars and semi-trucks can both top out at 85 mph. The toll road is hoped to alleviate crowding on Interstate 35 between San Antonio and Austin. For now, the toll road is free to all drivers, however, beginning on Veteran's Day (November 11 for you non-patriotic types) a three tier pay system will be implemented. Cars with state issued electronic toll tags will pay $6.17 to drive the 41 mile stretch, cars without the state issued tags will pay $8.21 for the full 41 miles and commercial trucks will pay in excess of 24 dollars for the 41 mile trip. The road was built with a combination of state and private funding.

Russell Means, American Indian Activist, Dead At Age 72

Russell Means, who was a fierce activist for American Indians, has passed away after a long battle with throat cancer. Means was perhaps best known as a leader of the American Indian Movement (AIM) who led brilliant demonstrations to bring attention to the modern day troubles of the American Indians. One of his most memorable events was a 1970 Thanksgiving Day takeover of the replica Mayflower II ship in Plymouth, Massachusetts. This event pushed Means into the National spotlight and he used his newfound celebrity status to become a powerful spokesman for all American Indians.

Idiot British Cop Tasers Blind Man - Mistakes Cane for Samurai Sword

What a relief to know that it's not only American citizens forced to deal with idiotic cops. A 62 year old British citizen was walking to a pub to meet friends when he was unexpectedly tasered by a cop who mistook his cane for a samurai sword. This is eerily reminiscent of the moronic Houston cop, Matthew Marin, who shot and killed wheelchair bound, double amputee Brian Claunch, when Marin mistook the ink pen Claunch was holding for a pistol. So, today we have a rare two part question for discussion: 1.

Should Genetically Modified Food be labeled?

Californians are getting ready to vote on Prop 37 which will require the labeling of food that has been intentionally genetically modified. There are some caveats to the proposition, that's why the word 'intentionally' is significant.

Here is a great link to the exact wording of Prop 37:
