The people have spoken. Voters have passed Initiative 502 and beginning December 6th, it is not a violation of state law for adults over 21 years old to possess up to an ounce of marijuana (or 16 ounces of solid marijuana-infused product, like cookies, or 72 ounces of infused liquid, like oil) for personal use.  The initiative establishes a one-year period for the state to develop rules and a licensing system for the marijuana production and sale.[...]

A couple Q and A's

Will SPD assist federal law enforcement in investigations of marijuana users or marijuana-related businesses, that are allowed under I-502?

 

No. Officers and detectives will not participate in an investigation of anything that’s not prohibited by state law.

SPD seized a bunch of my marijuana before I-502 passed. Can I have it back?

 

No.

December 6th seems like a really long ways away. What happens if I get caught with marijuana before then?  

 

Hold your breath. Your case will be processed under current state law. However, there is already a city ordinance making marijuana enforcement the lowest law enforcement priority.

. . . Slide 18 of the confidential document states that Honeywell (HON) should “continue to grow positive relationships with elected officials, with federal agencies, focusing on local branches." These relationships, the document explains, "can be directed at union activity, if needed.” The plan suggests that Honeywell's Government Relations division can be used to “break up union cohesion across the country.” A picture of President Obama speaking at a Honeywell plant is included (see above),
with a caption reading “HON has great relationships with Federal officials, focus is needed at the State and local levels.

 

Indeed, President Obama and Honeywell CEO Dave E. Cote have a very close relationship. Cote visited with Obama at the White House this past Wednesday to push him to cut budget spending. Cote is considered one of Obama’s closest allies in the business community. In January of 2009, Cote introduced Obama’s stimulus package in a White House speech. Cote was subsequently appointed by Obama to serve on the Deficit Commission. President Obama even flew with Cote to India while a lockout at Honeywell's Metropolis, Ill. uranium plant was ongoing. Cote returned the favor by giving heavily to the Democratic Party. In the 2010 election cycle when the Met, Honeywell was the top corporate PAC contributor to the Democratic Party.

 

Union activists believe that Honeywell’s federal ties have already enabled the company to call in government help when suppressing unions. . . .

I was thinking how powerful the noise machine is.  Obama will preside over a significant dismantling of the social safety net and other hard-fought Democratic Party gains while almost half the country is convinced he is a socialist.  Pretty amazing, really.  Pinter is not exaggerating when he calls the U.S. exercise of power a "brilliant, even witty, highly successful act of hypnosis."  It's amazing to watch.

Mr. Cote, perhaps the U.S. president's fiercest advocates in the business world, said, "We've gone through a very difficult time as a country. I don't think the president gets the credit, the president, the Congress, everybody who did what they needed to do to avoid a Depression."

 

He dismissed Mr. Obama's blasts against outsourcing of U.S. jobs overseas–a sensitive topic in India, where many of those jobs have gone–as campaign-trail rhetoric not tied to the president's instincts as a free-trade advocate.

 

Mr. Cote said Honeywell has established a major engineering center in India, not just because labor is cheaper here but because in many respects it is better, a message Mr. Obama has also talked about.

 

"The caliber of the software we get is superb," he said.

Just in, Obama's approval rating has risen to 99%.  Homeland Security is out looking for the remaining 1%.

Activists say that at least half of that one percent are lonely bloggers that refuse to see the light.

both terrorist slaves and terrorist Indians from retaliating against real American citizens, empowered by Manifest Destiny, who are subjugating, abusing, starving, poisoning, and killing such slaves and Indians to make America safer. 

Both Democrats and Republicans alike unanimously approved the measure stating that the Government  

"strongly supports its inherent right to act in self-defense to protect its
real, authentic, and God Approved citizens against acts of terrorism."
