I am the same Ohio Barbarian on Fire Dog Lake.

I was born and raised in San Antonio but was literally allergic to the place, and I never did like the weather there. Too damned hot for my Nordic genetic code, I guess. In the 1980's I got sick of the overall Texan political climate as well, and moved to Colorado, where I was a resident of the Denver area(sans a four year stint in the Navy because I really, really needed a job). 

After helping lead a failed union-organizing drive in Denver in the mid-ought's, I had a great big  fat target on my back, was black-balled in my trade throughout the state, and was staring unemployment in the face. My wife decided to go back to her home state, Ohio, and I came with her. Northeast Ohio has been kind to me--I've had good luck in maintaining a living, I love the climate, meterological, political, cultural and culinary--so this old Viking will make his stand here. 

Politically, I voted for Barack Obama in 2008(silly me), and Stewart Alexander in 2012, if that tells you anything. I'm a Socialist, but I definitely have a soft spot for the Greens. I was, after all, a member of the Committees of Correspondence back in the Eighties which helped found the American Green Party a few years later. 

I tend to be blunt, as one would expect of a barbarian, but I do have a sense of honor, archaic though thay may seem to some, and never dish out what I cannot take.
