Beasts of the Southern Wild--See It

The music is great. The sparse language is exquisite, beyond exquisite. Moments of flow including visual flow with a sentence enhancing an emotional and dramatic situation flowing to the next . . . well, as you see, it is indescribable. Gorgeous film, and I think perhaps new, or as new as Tree of Life.

Fiat Lux: Banishing Alienation Through Lights and Loud Noise by Northsylvania

Alienation can be considered part of the process of capitalist exploitation, but it can also mean feeling cut off and isolated from the surrounding world. Alienation in the Marxist sense means that capitalist production separates the worker from the object or service he produces, leading him to separate the effect of his own labour from the products he uses that are made by others. At the same time, he becomes no more than a product or object himself.

Anti-Capitalist Meet Up: 0 Bread, + Circuses - London Under Occupation

People may be thinking that London under Occupation may be a little over the top to describe the situation for Londoners living under Olympic rule for the next 18 days, but that is in many way an understatement. Between the rights of corporate sponsorship, the occupation by security and armed forces, and a government that is hell-bent on prioritising the needs of sponsors and security concerns over the rights of citizens for freedom of speech and the right to live in peace, the term “under occupation” is an excellent description of the situation.

Hunter S. Thompson is dead

"Those who fail to learn from the brutal stompings visited on them in the past are doomed to be brutally stomped in the future."

Hunter Thompson no more needs to be said but what the hell I'm going to anyway. I remember when I was a kid reading his "Gonzo journalism", it was so gonzo he actually became known as Gonzo himself. His hatred of Nixon the CIA and all things government formed a bit of my opinion on how the PTB attempts to control how we think.

HST: When you say perceive you imply the difference between what the candidate is and the way the public or the voters see him.

Romney!

I have nothing to say about Barack Willard Obamney at all. It's not that I don't care. But I don't. I just yell Romney! When I get this hot. Or this bothered.

I am not built for this weather. My people come from northern climes. I have to shave my back and manly bits every week because it's so hot out I can't think. It's too hot to go to the lake. Think about that. It's so hot I've been cruising fertility sites for testicle cooling creams.
