From the blog mission statement:
We are affiliated with no political party. With respect to our corrupted political system, we support reformers and reformers only.
We advocate direct action and place our faith in the power of social and cultural movements as well as individual and group initiatives. We support as primary solutions such areas of advocacy as: permaculture; agroecology; environmental sustainability; ecological responsibility; world peace; social justice; equality; human rights; social, economic and political reform; as well as all other measures aimed at solving real problems, reducing human suffering, promoting human dignity and preserving the earth as a healthy and nurturing home for all living creatures.
We endorse the Enlightenment values as articulated in the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. We support world peace, social justice, human rights and universal brotherhood. And we believe that an educated and enlightened citizenry can achieve these goals. Moreover, we believe that these goals must be achieved for there to be a reasonable future for humanity.
We are the Humanitarian Left.
We place a lot of emphasis on permaculture because permaculture is about more than permanent/sustainable agriculture, it's about permanent/sustainable culture. It's about breaking the chains of how we have lived as low-information creatures and finding a more humane and rational way to live and relate to the earth and each other as the high(er)-information creatures we now are.
It's time to square up with the reality that the earth is finite and that we are all related and co-equal. Cooperation, not competition, is the key to the future. We are the 'collectivists' the Koch brothers are so worried about. We represent the future of humanity to the extent that there will be one. We are fighting for the survival of our species.
We are open to and endorse the full spectrum of humane, intelligent, compassionate and ethical solutions to real problems. We respect science, technology and humanity. We reject all bullshit and all propaganda.
